AM/PM--Reading
Writing: Today we went over our Haiku's that we wrote last night. Then we learned about Cinquains. This is s France style poem that was inspired by the Japanese Haiku. It has 5 lines. The first is a noun, 2nd has two adjectives, 3rd has 3 -ing words, 4th has a sentence about the noun from line 1 and the line 5 has a synonym that matches the word from line 1.
Math: Today we learned about the Order of Operations. We did this by learning about My Dear Aunt Sally. We learned that she is very moody and she says that we have to do math equations a certain way. Parenthesis, Exponents, multiplication/division (whichever one comes first from left to right) and then addition/subtraction (whichever oen comes first from left to right).
P.E. -- Did the fitness test.
Read Redwall.
Science: Today we learned about specialized structures. We experimented with different bird beaks (hand tools) to see who would thrive and who would be hindered.
We also learned about Charles Darwin and how he discovered the theory of Evolution when he visited the Gallapogos Island.

Math: Blue worksheet on orders of operations.
FYI--tomorrow is the last day to order recorders for music. It cost $2.50.
