AM/PM--Centers, Guided Reading

Writing: Today we went over our Diamante's and started putting our poem books together.

Math: Today we reviewed a bit of Order of Operations and did a few practice problems again. We also learned that there are several ways to show multiplication in algebra. For example, 3 x x = 6, 3 . x = 6, 3x=6, 3(x)=6. We also talked about distributive property in algebra. There will be HW on this tonight

Science: Today we passed off our Heredity Rap. I put a lot of time into making a Jeopardy game and though we had fun playing, at the end I was very furious because of the way our class members treated the losing team. There were VERY mean word said and I had everyone put their heads down for the last 30 mins of class rather than to study the Constitution as I had planned. Respecting classmates is very important to me and I was not going to let these types of words allowed in my classroom. I am very disappointed in the way the students treated each other and I was too upset to teach the remainder of the day. Please talk to your student about being a good sport, not using bad language in school, and being respectful to classmates.
