Day 90

AM/PM--Finishing up Book Reports and Spelling packet #20 Bonus words: Heredity and Genetics.

Writing: Today we wrote up our rough draft for our persuasive essays. They need to finish it up for homework tonight because we are typing it up tomorrow.

Math: Today we finished up talking about surface area. We found out the surface area of a cube and then we had to be detectives and solve a math problem where the students knew the surface area but they didn't know the shape. They got in groups to make a polyhedron that had the surface area of 150 unit squared.

Family Meeting: Today we shared concerns and talked about solutions to those problems.

Read Aloud: Today we read more of Redwall.

Science: Today we learned the beginning of the genetic rap. We then talked about cells and how the center of the cells contain a nucleus. Inside the nucleus there are chromosomes that are made up of genes made of DNA.

HW:
READ--Book Reports are due tomorrow.
Writing: Finish up the rough draft of your persuasive essay. There needs to be 5 paragraphs (use your graphic organizer to help you).
Math: Pink worksheet on surface area of a net.
