AM/PM--Buddy Reading/Spelling Test/GR/Book Reports
Writing: Today we learned how to organize our thoughts in a persuasive essay. We start off with a thesis. Then, we write 2 - 3 reasons for that thesis. Next, you think of some supporting detail for those reasons and then finally, you write a conclusion that will tie it all together.
Math: Today we reviewed how to find the area of a rectangular pyramid. We know that the formula for finding the area of a rectangle is Length x width. And a triangle is 1/2 of a quadrilateral so the formula for finding the area of a triangle is length x width/2.
We took a quiz to assess our knowledge of the things learned this week. Looks like everyone did well.
Science: Today we started our next unit: Heredity/Genetics. Today we learned that all living things have Dioxyribonucleic Acid (DNA). This DNA is coiled together in groups called chromosomes. In these chromosomes, we have genes and these genes tell our cells what to do: make an eye, color of your hair, shape of your nose, etc.
Fun Friday.
