AM/PM: Centers/Guided Reading
Math: Today we learned how to divide in various ways. The purpose of this is to help students understand number sense. Instead of just following step 1, step 2, etc. students should be able to understand the meaning of division. By doing division in various ways, they are forced to understand why, which leads to division and multiplication understanding.
Library: Next week will be the Book fair so they will not have library next week.
Read aloud of chapter 18/cursive practice.
Social Studies: We did presentaions of Native American Indian projects.
Grammar: Today we talked about how verbs are the core of any sentence. We talked about what is a action verb and what is a helping verb. Then, we practiced locating them in various languages. In our class, we several multi-lingo kiddos. We speak various dialects of Spanish, Arabic, and Korean. It's pretty cool to hear all the languages.
Enrichment: We played Soccer with Mr. Crandall's class.
HW:
Read out loud
Math: Orange paper on various division.
Grammar: Blue paper on Action/helping verbs.
SS: Native American presentation
Get Clear creek permission slips and money.
Get your parents to sign up for parent teacher conferences.

Are there any sites that we can go to for help on the math. The new methods are not making any sense from the sheet that was brought home and of course there are no notes on the sheet from my student.
