Day 5, our first Monday.

Monday's are usually crazy but today went pretty smoothly. This is what we did today:

We finished up our DRAs and talked about how I grade them. Then, we practiced our reading rate (how fast we read).

Math: We talked about place value. We discussed what is the difference between a digit and the value of a digit. Then, we practiced making number in standard form (215), expanded form (200 + 10 + 5) and word form (two hundred fifteen). There is homework on this tonight.

Assembly: We had a school assembly where Mr. Tilman went over important class rules.

Read Aloud: Read Chapter 3.

Class meeting: I went over the procedure of class meeting and then we voted for class officers. Congratulations to:

I usually give out spelling today but we ran out of time so I will give it tomorrow.

HW:
Read for 20 mins. (Remember August books need to be finished by Wednesday night, Book report questionaire will be given on Thursday morning).

Math: Blue worksheet on place value

Parental note: If you didn't turn in your paragraph about why it is important to not talk when Mrs. Varner is talking, with a parent signature, then it will be due tomorrow. If I don't recieve one by tomorrow, I will call home.
