I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

March 22, 2011

Today was a crazy day but we got through it okay.

AM/PM time: We are working with our non fiction books and they are REALLY looking awesome! I am really excited for these. I am so impressed with the work that these students have put into these. They are so creative and informative. Just so you know, these will be due next Friday.

Math: We had a crazy lesson today. The students found the concept really difficult (converting capacity into various measurements. For example, 256 tbsp = 1 gallon. I decided to teach this lesson again to make sure that they understood before I gave homework. I didn't want them to be frustrated with their homework. They will have double homework tomorrow though.

Science: We had a 5th grade rotation. Our class went to Mr. Alder's class and did a review on electricity.

Writing: We have been asked by the PTA to teach the kids about Shakespeare. Today we learned about iambic pentameter and read a few Shakespeare sonnets. They are supposed to pick one sonnet and memorize it for a grade. This will be recited on Monday, March 28th. These are a bit difficult so if you can help out at home that would be awesome. Apparently, the 5th grade winner will get a $15.00 reward. It would awesome if it was a student from our class.

HW:
Writing: Memorize a Shakespeare sonnet.
