I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

January 21, 2011

Friday was a fun day.

We had computers with Mrs. Belletti. The Rocky Mt. has decided not to do the state reports like we have done them in the past. We are still going to do a project with states but it won't be as flamboyant as it has been in the past. They are learning how to create powerpoints in Mrs. Belletti's class. They will be doing it a state there and then they will be presenting with each other. This change was made because we decided that we wanted the kids to participate in the district Science fair.

We also had our math test. I have graded them and they seem to have done ok. Not as good as I would have like to seen so we are going to work on making up for the misunderstandings.

We also had our spelling test and our Northeast region. Seems like everyone did well on those too. Thanks for studying with them at home. I am very proud of those scores.

Our last debate went very well! It is so fun to be a teacher and watch the kids eyes open. It seems like they are doing very well at asking questions and finding logic behind the reasonings.

We also had the Hope of America lady come in. The kids did very well. She told me that she made new CDs for all the kids. She will given those to me next week sometime and I will send those home for the kids to practice. Remember the performance is on Tuesday, May 3 at the Marriott Center at BYU.

HW:
Writing: We are starting our persuasive essays next week. They were given a worksheet that asked them to look for persuasiveness around them. I saw a few that were left in the class so I am going to put a copy online (It's called "HW search" and it's under the Writing assignments section) Those will be due on Monday.
