Today we:
Small group: We are still talking about comprehension. Students need to be reading their book club books and recording their comprehension strategies in their readers workshop notebook.
Music
Math: We talked about making equivalent ratios/fractions. We used colored chip to see how a fraction can be broken down to smaller versions with the same amount of chips.
For homework, they need to identify the ratios of different geometric shapes and write fractions and ratios into simplest form.
Science: We talked about variations in life cycles. We talked about how not all living things look like their parents. Some things have to go through a cycle in order to look like it's parents. For example, a meal worm is born looking like a worm but it will go through a metamorphasis and then will become a beetle.
Writing: Students are still working on their persuasive letters to you. Tomorrow will be the last day.
HW:
Math: Worksheet 11-2 on Equivalent ratios.
