I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

December 9, 2010

Today we:
Small group: Reading Comprehension Strategies

Math: We talked about how to graph ratios and use tables to solve problems with ratios. For example, if I can read 2 pages in 5 minutes, how many pages can I read in 1 hour?
Their homework deals with making graphs and tables to solve problems. On page P11-3, problem #5 was very difficult so I gave them the answer, it is C.

Social Studies: The students made posters that will help them to remember the Bill of Rights. These are posted in my room and will be used to help them memorized them. They should have them memorized by next Wednesday when we have our Social Studies Test.

Science: We talked about Inherited (innate) behavior vs learned behavior in animals. Then, we looked at different animals and made inferences on how they adapt to certain environments.

Writing: They wrote their last letter to you. Tonight will be your last response to them.

We are still reading "The Rangers Apprentice" during read aloud.

HW:
Math: w/s 11-3 (blue and pink paper)
Spelling test tomorrow. Please make sure they turn in their packet (it is on the website if you need to print up another)
Geography Bee--tomorrow in the class Geography bee, this is optional.
Writing: Last parent response.

P.S. tomorrow is Box Top day, your child can bring box tops to trade in for prizes.
Also, Orbert Skye, author of "Leven Thumps" is coming to our school tomorrow to sign books.
