What we did:

PE/Music day

Math: We talked about estimations numbers in division problems by finding compatible number.

Social Studies test: I had them take another assessment to see how much of the history they have learned. We will be starting on the Constitutions and Bill of Rights next week.

Writing: We are starting our next writing unit: advertising. This is part of our persuasive essay lessons that we need to learn in 5th grade (the kids take a national test on it at the end of the year). Today we talked about the different methods that marketers use to advertise their product. Later we will use these technique to write our own advertisement. I hope that this will also help the kids to see the luring power of advertising (in lue of Black Friday). Hopefully, this will help them to be more financially aware.

HW:
1. Math w/s 4-2 on estimations.
2. Make sure we are reading our assigned minutes every night.

ALSO: I sent out permission slips for Hope of America. It will be on Tuesday, May 3. Please have those turned in by Friday. It is $10.00 if you want to buy the shirt and CD. If you don't want to buy anything they can still go they will just have to burrow one of the shirts that they have there that night.
