Today, we got a new book club book. Since we only have 3 weeks, I gave everyone fairly short books. They need to finish those books and do their group project by Wednesday, November 23. They also have to pick their Book Report book (their choice) by Friday. This book is not due till Monday November 29th (Right after Thanksgiving Break).
Math: We did a bit of a review on the assessment that we did on Monday. We got to answer some questions and clarify some misunderstandings. I will give another assessment just before Christmas.
Also, I noticed that a lot of student find Unit 4 pretty easy. So I decided to do a pre-assessment to see how they do. If they understand a certain topic, I will go through that chapter quickly. If there is a certain chapter that everyone seems to not understand, I will take that chapter slowly. No point in wasting time teaching them things they already know. Therefore, for homework, i gave them page 200 -201. PLEASE DO NOT HELP THEM WITH THIS! I want to see how much they can do on their own. This will guide my instruction.
Science: Mr. Alder has graded the science test. Most students did well but there are some that didn't do very well at all. He said it was mostly because of the vocabulary section. I will send them home tomorrow. For those that didn't do well, there will be a extra credit worksheet that students can do sometime this week.
Grammar: We talked about the difference between a common and proper noun and pronouns. I gave the students a blue worksheet for homework.
