Today we:
We talked about strategies to improve comprehension skills and then got new book club books.
During S.S. we talked about the 3 branches of the government (executive, judicial, and legislative) and their duties and powers.
Math: We discussed Mean, Mode, Median, and Range and how to find out their answers. They have a homework sheet on this. They can use their notes and a calculator but they are NOT supposed to get help from parents or friends. If they get them all right, I will give them a free bowling coupon for Fat Cats.
Science: We started our new unit on Heredity/Genetics. We talked about genes, inherited traits, DNA, and chromosomes.
Grammar: We corrected out homework on commas and I gave them 1 more practice sheet. They will have a quiz on using commas tomorrow. In the quiz, they do not have to identify the rules but they will have to use the rules to determine where the commas go in the sentences.
