I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Friday, November 12

What a fun day we had today!

We started off with computers, had our spelling test, and then worked on dividing money in math.

After lunch, we worked more on writing our group papers for our persuasive ads. The kids are really liking this unit. Some of their products are just so hilarious! I want to upload them some how so you parents can see it. These commercials are going to be so fun!

Last of all, we had an assembly. My friend Setema Gali came and spoke to all the 4,5, and 6th graders. Setema played football for BYU and went on to play with the Chargers and the New England Patriots. He even helped them win the Superbowl in 2002. He came and spoke to the kids about how to make your dreams come true. He said, "How I do anything is how I do everything." He gave the kids a challenge to follow 5 steps in live to help them achieve in life.
They are:
1. Make a goal.
2. Write it down.
3. Create a plan.
4. Persist (never give up)
5. Surround yourself with greatness (good friends, music, people, books, etc).

I encourage you to talk with your kids about making sure that follow these steps. Maybe you can do it together.

HW:
Read: Book club books are due this next week (some are already done). Book Report books are due the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Math: Page 233 #1 - 18 (Dividing money)

Have a great weekend!
