I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Day 143

AM/PM -- Non-fiction books, spelling packet. Bonus words this week: Confederate and Emancipation Journal/DMRs Math: Today we started our last unit: Ratio, proportion, and probability Reading: Made goals for reading groups. We also discussed the book report projects that we will do this week. I only require 3 things from their projects that they have to make up on their own for their book reports: It has to be done by Friday, it has to prove to me that everyone in the group read the book and it has to be measurable enough to grade (students need to grade themselves and I will grade them according to their grading scale). Remember that it needs to be realistic. Not something like: 100% for effort or something silly like that. A good scale would be something like: 50% for completing the book, 10% for creativity in report, 10% for group cooperation, 10% for reaching group reading goals and 10% for presentation or something like that. Family meeting: We talked about our concerns of coming in properly in the morning then shared any good news we had. Read Aloud Social Studies: Today we are still discussing the difference between the North and the South. HW: Math: pink worksheet on ratios
