AM/PM--New books for April. This months is about monitoring your understanding. non-fiction books.
Writing: Worked on Chapter 2 and 3. We talked about plagerism.
Math: We learned about pie graphs. Pie graphs are different than bar and line graphs because there is a percentage of a whole amount. For example, a bar or line graph can tell how many cookies the girl scouts sold in Utah and California. But a pie/circle graph tells out of 100 cookies sold-- 30 thin mints, 50 samoas, 10 peanut butter, 10 sugar cookies were sold. With pie/circle graphs, there has to be a certain number of wholes. We call this a denominator in fractions. We can also get a percentage from this amount as well.
