I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Day 79

AM/PM -- DRA/Centers/Reading

Writing: Today we got in groups to practice our debate topics with our team.
We will have 2 groups go tomorrow and the rest will go on Tuesday.

Math: Today we learned how to find the surface area of a rectangular prism. We learned the each face is a polygon and we can find the area of a rectangle my mulitplying the length by the width (area = length x width). Then we add up all the faces. We also made two identical rectangular prisms by cutting out graph paper that had centimeter squares. This helped us to see why we add a "squared" (2) at the end of the measurement. For example, 166 centimenters "squared"(2).

Read Aloud "Redwall"/Self start books.

Social studies: Today we talked about the battle of Bunker Hill, different war tactics from the British and the Americans and how General Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, VA. We also talked about the Treaty of Paris which offically ended the Revolutionary War.
