Day 63

AM/PM Centers and GR. We are talking about metacognitive awareness. This is thinking about thinking. We are talking about how we monitor our comprehension while we are reading to make sure we are understanding what is going on.

Writing: Today we learned about a new computer program that will help us with our writing skills. It is called UtahWrite.com. It is a program that we will be doing in class and at home. It helps us to practice writing on the computer (the DWA test in February is on the computer). It also gives me instant computerized scores so that I can monitor and assess understanding of writing skills from each student. Today we got our individual user and passwords.

Math: Today we reviewed adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. We need a bit more practice with this. I noticed a few people didn't do well on the homework the last few nights so I have provided extra credit for them to bring up their scores.

Finish Spelling Packet/study for test
Math: pink worksheet (green and yellow papers for extra credit)
Writing: Go onto www.utahwrite.com and go under "Ideas and Content" and pick "Develop the main Point. REMEMBER: It should only take about 15 mins. If it takes longer than that just stop (if you want to go on you can but you don't have to. I just want you to explore for 15 mins.)
