I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Day 56

AM/PM--Centers/GR/Book reports

Math: Today we did a little bit of cooking. Well, not really but we did look at a yummy chocolate chip cookie recipe and figured out how to double the recipe. We learned how to double a fraction amount. For example. 2 1/4 cups of flour will be 4 1/2 flour if we double. We also did a quick review of adding fraction amounts. Remember when adding or subtracting fractions, you need to have the denominators the same and just add/subtracting the numerator.

Computers: Today the students practiced their typing speed. They also made a graph of their improvement over the last few months.

Read Aloud: Today we learned Ailuophobia, the fear of cats.

Writing: Today we finished our 5th paragraph. There were even some students who went the extra mile and wrote 6+ paragraphs about their American Hero. It was pretty amazing.

Science: Students are working on powerpoint presentations on their science topic: landforms/volcanoes.

HW:
Math: Orange math worksheet on adding/subtracting fractions with like denominators.
Also, there was an extra credit paper that was an option.
Writing: Finish the 5th paragraph if you haven't already.
Spelling: Test and packet due tomorrow.
Reading: Work on your book report.
