I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Day 14

Today:
Small group time: timed reading, spelling pretest, centers and guided reading

Flag retirement ceremony

Math: We learned about integers and how they are used. Numbers can be looked at in various ways. The number 5 can be looked at as a value of five or it can be seen as an integer of positive 5 (as opposed to negative 5). There is homework on this.

Preposition song quiz

Class meeting: we talked about any good news and some classroom concerns.

Writing: There was time set aside to finish up their rough draft of their personal narrative. I have given everyone about 1 and 1/2 weeks to finish this but I saw there wasn't a lot of the students that finished this so I told them they had to finish it for homework. There has to be five paragraphs that meet the requirements in the rubric.

Read aloud

Science: We learned the history of magnets and talked about Lodestone and the earth's magnetic field.

HW:
Read out loud for 20 mins.
Math r/p 12-5 on integers
Finish your 5 paragraphs of personal narratives (if you haven't already)

Also: tomorrow is hat day
