I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

AM/PM Practiced our spelling words, worked on our State report

Math: We corrected our homework and I answered some questions about multiplying/dividing decimals. Then, we had a short lesson on how to find the percentage of a number. For example, 55% of 98 = 53.9
They have homework on that tonight.

Practiced our Hope of America line and songs

Writing: Did a peer edit on our newspaper articles. (I didn't have enough time to read over everyone's articles so I told them to have a parent read it tonight). They are supposed to rewrite their article tonight. I noticed (from those that I read) that there was a lot of jumping around in information in the text. I taught them about writing paragraphs that have only 1 main idea in each paragraph. This is something that we talked about when we did persuasive paragraphs but I was a little worried when a few kids were writing paragraphs that 20 sentences long and covered several main ideas. I like the length but I need them to remember the lessons on separating ideas into separate paragraphs. For example, one paragraph about where the Ford's theatre is, one paragraph on how John Wilkes Booth planned the assassination, one paragraph about how he killed Abraham Lincoln, and so forth. When you edit these, please make sure that they put these together thoroughly.

HW:
Math: review books page 11 - 13
Rewrite your newspaper article, sloppy copy
Practice hope of america songs
