Today:
small group: worked on www.utahwrite.com We are improving on our scores. I think that everyone will do well on Friday. We also read in our book club books. Remember book club reports are due on Monday. (You have to write 10 questions: 2 true/false, 2 multiple choice, 2 Fill in the blank, and 4 essay questions. Don't forget to write the answer as well.


Computers: with Mrs. Belletti--they practiced a new persuasive essay prompt. I had them print them up to show you what they wrote.

Math: We corrected out homework on Area and did a lesson on Area with rectangles and squares. The kids discovered the formula A= Length x width

Social Studies: We started on the Civil war today. We talked about the style of living in the North states and compared them to the style of living in the South. We also talked about how people were able to get/buy slaves and how they were usually treated.

Writing: We had Katie Beach come in and talk about how she discovered how she had dyslexia. She told the kids that she had this problem and learned to overcome her problem by hard work and determination. I thought it was a great lesson on not giving up when things get hard.

I also had them pick the poems that they are supposed to memorize by next Friday. They have these so if you want them to practice with you, that would be awesome.

Also, we had our connect 5 reward. They got ice cream and cookies and then we went outside to play steal the flag.
