What we did today:
Small group time: practiced introductions again/questioning to comprehend/guided reading
Social Studies: We finished up the westward expansion and then talked about the industrial revolution. i.e. the steamboat, steam train, spinning jenny, sewing machine, and the cotton gin. We ended focusing on the importance of the cotton gin and how Eli Whitney probably didn't know the impact that he would have on the world with his invention. This was a prelude lesson to the beginning of the Civil War.
Math: Determining which measuring unit to use when measuring. (Kilometer, meter, centimeter, and millimeter)
Worksheet 9-3 for homework.
Science: We need a little more time so the 5th grade team decided to push the test to this Thursday.
Writing: Poems---Limericks.
