I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

January 13, 2011

I know I said i would be in todat but life has a way of playing tricks on you!

My son, Charlie, was completely better by last night but then I was awaken this morning at 4am by his twin, Clark. You've probably heard the saying, "Twins share everything." Well, in this case, that is true.

I was in this morning at 4:30am (unshowered and makeupless) to find a sub and get sub plans together but turns out there was a district meeting and everyone and their dog is sick so it took me till 9am to find a sub. Thank goodness because I did not want to burden your children with my hideous appearance anymore than I already did.

So, I have spent the day at home, I have tried to use my time wisely. So you know, I have updated all the grades on skyward and have most of my DRAs graded.

My husband already got the day off for tomorrow so plan on me being there. I have a fun lesson on Civil Rights prepared and I am excited to teach it.

As for what was supposed to happen today:

I was able to get 5 children tested today before my sub showed up.

They are still editing written text on Dolly Madison.

They practiced the Hope of America songs. Note: The lady that is in charge of Hope of America program is coming to our school on Friday, January 21 to personally practice with the kids. We are going to try our best to get as many of those songs learned by then.

Math: They talked about comparing fractions with different denominators. Then, they were supposed to do a extra credit worksheet. This is one of those rare moments when I actually let them do extra credit to bring up their grades. Please encourage them to do it. Every point really does help.
