Day 170

AM/PM--Tall Tales. We read a few tall tales and then wrote one of our own. Math: We discussed how measuring is useful in everyday life and how the metric system and customary/standard measuring system is different and similar. Social Studies: I did my best to give the fastest WW1 summary as possible. We talked about the causes, major events, significance in history, results and connection with WW2. 6th Grade verse faculty basketball. Reader's Theatre of Thurgood Marshall and Martin Luther King Jr. Fun Friday HW: Have a good weekend. Remember Tuesday is field day. If you did not bring money for pizza you need to bring your own lunch. You also need to bring water and sunscreen.

Day 169

AM/PM-- Worked on our Reader's Theatre 4th grade program Music Math: We performed our Standard Capacity Song to some of the 6th grade classes. Have your student read it with you to see if they remember the words. 5th grade Wax Museum. FYI, I decide to not include our class in this 5th grade activity because we had already did a biography project at the beginning of the year so I did think that the children needed to do that again. I choose to finish up with our US History instead. Lang. Arts: Performance of our Reader's theatre: Rosa Parks and Jackie Robinson. HW: Bring your $2.00 for the field day. Finish your Self Startbooks, DMRs and journals. These will all be turned in tomorrow.

AM/PM --Reader's Theatre on Civil Rights events Math: Reviewing and practicing the metric System (King Henry Died Monday Drinking Chocolate Milk) Finishing our Social Studies Book Music Family Meeting: What was your favorite thing about 5th grade and what are you doing this summer 5th grade program for 1 thru 3. HW: Remember to bring you $2.00. Also we are performing again tomorrow for grades 4 - 6 and K so bring your shirt, flashlight, and sunglasses.
