AM/PM-- Guided Reading/Library for research
Writing: We looked at different examples and styles of non-fiction books. We looked at the covers of the books and also saw that there are various voices. Then we started designing our cover and decided what our voice was going to be. For example, one student who is writing about snakes is making his voice a park ranger. Another student writing about rodents will be making their voice a mouse that tells about other fellow rodents.
Math: Today we took a quiz that helped us to review for the test tomorrow. I think that everyone is ready. We will take the test first thing in the morning.
New Read Aloud book "Sacagawea"
Social Studies: Today we learned about the Daniel Boone and his westward expedition over the Appalacian Mts and the Louisiana Purchase. We also started talking about the Louis and Clark expedition.
HW:
Read. Make sure you are reading your 2nd self-picked book. It's due next week.
Math: Study for the test tomorrow.
