I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Day 120

AM/PM--Today we looked a paragraph to determine the plot/main idea. We learned that this finding these plots will help us to know the importance of the article/paragraph/story etc.

Writing: We worked on our poetry books. We also decided to have a poetry cafe. I will bring in some hot cocoa and then every one will get to recite their poems in a relaxed environment.

Math: We got to briefly learn about the Fibonacci series. This is a number pattern that nature follows. It goes as follows: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,... We also discussed different strategies that helped us to find the patterns of number series. We learned that we need to look at all the possible ways that the first number can change the next number. Then look for a pattern between all the numbers in the series.

Read Aloud: "6th grade nickname game"

Social studies: We watched a music video about how a bill becomes a law. Then we did a review for the social studies test tomorrow.

Enrichment: We went over our Hope of America songs. Remember that this will be on April 17th. Please practice on your CDs at home.

HW:

Math: pink w/s on number patterns.
Social Studies: Memorize the Preamble of the Constitution to recite tomorrow. Also test is tomorrow on the Constitution. (notes can be used for the test).
