I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Day 101

AM/PM-Guided Reading. Also we are going to work on building reading stamina to prepare us for the end of the year testing in April. We will do this by competing with the track times to see who can go the longest self-sestained reading time. The winner will get to have a chips and salsa party at the end of the month.

Writing: We went over how the computer system grades our writing I showed them different things that the computer looks for when it grades you. I did this because the Utahwrite program is very similar to the one that is used on the DWA test that we will take on March 2. I am hoping to get everyone with a 25 on their UtahWrite program by the end of this month.

Math: Today we started a new unit on graphing. We read a story about Rene Decartes and how he came up with the Cartisian Coordinate Graph. This is the same system that we use when we use a map, play "Battleship", or even draw. We then did an activity that involved using the Cartisian system where the kids had to figure out what was on the picture: it was a race car.

Read Aloud in "Redwall"

HW:
Read
Try to improve your UtahWrite score by using the techniques I talked about in class (adding more paragraphs, tabbing at the beginning of the paragraph, no spaces between paragraphs, etc).
If you didn't finish your race car, please finish it.

Also, don't forget your Valentine's box and Valentines:-)
