AM/PM--Christmas book reading/Guided Reading
Writing:
Persuasive Letter Binding
Persuasive Ads--paragraph 5
Math: Today we learned about surface area of a rectangular/square prism. We talked about the 3 demensions (length, width, and depth/height). We reviewed the formula for finding an Area which is length x width. Then, we looked at a 3-D box and determined the surface area by adding up the area of all the sides. There is homework on this. I also handed out some extra credit sheets.
Timed Math/read aloud..today we finished "School of Fear." It was a great book.
Class meeting: Today we were going to learn a new song "The 12 pains of Christmas." Unfortunately, too many people were not following instructions and were throwing paper (snowballs) very hard at other people. So, I had to stop the activity. I told the students I was disappointed in their lack of respect for their fellow students and to me for not following rule. I also told them that I expected more from them. In the future, I hope that they will learn from this experience.
HW:

Math: blue worksheet on surface area
Writing: If you haven't, finish up your persuasive letters with your parents.
Science: If you haven't already, turn in your question for your science fair project.
