AM/PM Performed our Book Report Skits, reviewed some language arts concepts (synonyms, homophones, root word derivatives, and comma rules)
Math: We have been reviewing fraction concepts and operations. Today we made a chart that seperated the rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
Library: Next week, will be the last day that they will be able to check out books.
They were supposed to pick out a book that they will read for the month of May today.
Writing: We went over the concept and reasoning behind graphic organizers (to help us organize our thoughts). We practiced making Venn Diagrams.
Science Review: We went over some sample science questions from the UTIPS. We discussed the answers to help them to practice their thinking process when they take the test tomorrow.
HW: FYI--I told the kids they even though there is 4 weeks of school, really I need them to work really hard for the next 3 weeks. I really want them to do well on these DRA and CRT tests. I know they are capable of doing great and I don't want them to cut themselves short. So please be aware there will be a lot of homework in the next 3 weeks.
Math review books up to page 47.
Practice Science UTIPS for at least 1 hour.
