AM/PM We are now focusing on finding the main idea by using a graphic organizer. By doing this, they will be able to see how there is a function to writing paragraphs. We will focus on this topic for a the next 3 weeks.
Social studies:
I am trying to wrap up that Civil War Unit. Today students learned about the Gettysburg Address. We watched a movie of Abraham Lincoln and how he helped to save the country and got how he got rid of slavery.
Math: We spend the entire hour studying for the test tomorrow on Geometery. I gave them a long lecture about not just showing up for the test and hoping to pass. I told them that I will NOT give a retest on this unit. If they want to pass this test, they will have to study and practice the concept. Everything that is on the test is on the practice test that they are supposed to do for homework. If parents sign the test, it shows me that you are aware of what they know about the concepts. If there is anything that they don't know, please have them look up the topic in their notes and study homework that has been grades. Feel free to help them, if you can.
Science: Students played a game with Mr. Alder to review science concepts about Electricity.
Read aloud: I had the students practice their cursive while I read from "Chains." This is a REALLY good book.
Author's Fair: Several student's shared their non-fiction books.
HW:
Math: study, study, study for the math test.
Also please do practice test page 380 - 381 #1-3, 6-19, and 21-26. Parent signature will give them 1 extra credit point.
