Small group: Last day to finish up Non-fiction books.
Math: We talked about different polygons and how they can be broken into other shapes. Then the students learned about how shapes can be congruent (same angles and same length sides) and similar (same angles and lengths of sides are proportional)
Writing: We talked about how sentences can have 2 helping verbs and focused on past tense conjugations. For example, He should have gone to the store. ("should" and "have" are both helping verbs and "gone" is the past tense of go).
Social Studies: I was going to show a video about Abraham Lincoln but we had some technical difficulties so instead, we decided that our fate was to go outside and enjoy the sunshine while playing kickball.
HW:
Math r/p 6-8 on similarities and congruency
Grammar: 2 helping verb words worksheet
Writing: Finish Non-fiction book
