Mrs. Varner's class blog.

I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

March 25, 2011

Sorry this is late. I got so excited to go home Friday that I completely forgot. Better late than never, right?

Small group: We finished up our outline for our nonfiction books. For homework, they are supposed to put together their information in paragraph format.

Math: We finished chapter 10. The test scores were not as good as I thought they would be. I do not have enough time to in the school year to go back and reteach during the math time. So, I am going to offer all those who want to take a tutoring session during lunch on Monday and Tuesday. I will give another test on Wednesday during lunch recess. This will not be required so if you do not like your child's math score, please talk to them about these tutoring sessions.

writing: We practiced memorizing and reciting our sonnets. We talked about hand movements and intonation in voice to create an interesting visual aid to go with the poem. A few students were able to pass off the poem and did quite well. The rest of the class will do it on Monday. The best 2 will go on to our school competition.

Art: Thank you again to Mrs. Bateman for coming in and helping us finish our picasso portraits. These are in our halls and, if I do say so myself, they are the best looking pictures in the school. If you have a chance, come by and see them.

HW:
Memorize your sonnets.
Work on your nonfiction books.
