I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.

Our class blog.

I have been thinking about starting this class blog for a while. I just thought it would be a great way to get some good communication between me, parents, and students. I want everyone to be able to know what is going on in our class. It will be a great opportunity to help everyone feel like they are part of a team and are not left out of the loop involving their children's education.

So, here it goes.

This is how I think we can use this blog:

1. I would like the students to take turns writing interesting things that are happening in our class. This will help them with their writing practice but will also help them to feel the significance that writing can have in the real world.

2. Parents can post comments to give students feedback, which also helps the students to feel connected with the class.

3. I can keep a listing of the daily and weekly homework so that parents can know what is going on and can help their child succeed at home.

4. If I need a helper in class, I can post it here in advance instead of trying to find the time to call several parents to find one.

Though I think this blog idea might be a great thng, I must also note that it could cause some issues, too. So, therefore, I am going to have some rules. They are:

1. Please do not post anything negative. I want this to be a positive experience for everyone.

2. Please be patient with me as a we all try to figure this out.

3. If I think that there needs to be a new rule because of miss use, please allow me to change them accordingly.

Anyway, I am excited to get this blog going. I am sure as the year goes on, we will all be able to look back and see several progressions in our classes success.

Happy Blogging!
